Born and raised in Paris, I moved to London aged 19 years, to study Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins. A combination of circumstances allowed me to begin exhibiting my work from a young age, working with several galleries in London and Paris throughout my 20s.
During that period, inspired primarily by architecture and perspective, I developed a technique with a strong graphical aspect, using mixed media (acrylic/ ink/ drawing/ photography), which I explored over time.
By around 26 years, I felt the need for a profound evolution, so focused my attention more intensely on painting. At that time, I discovered Berlin’s thriving international art scene, where considerable respect and importance was attached to painting as an art form, especially in keeping with the traditions of German expressionism, which I was personally attracted to.
Further inspired by other artists who settled in Berlin, such as Adrian Ghenie and Victor Man, I moved there myself in 2011, with the purpose of developing my work in a new direction. Once there, I chose to change technique and I turned to oils – a medium I was less familiar with, but which I gave myself over to completely.
Over the next 6 years I locked myself away in my Berlin studio, working fastidiously to build a new coherent work. During this period, I only showed my work in two personal exhibitions in Mexico City, as part of artistic residencies I had taken up.
Today I return home to Paris. From my warehouse studio in Ivry sur Seine, I wish to present a broader set of work, mostly realized on large-scale canvases, that deserve to be appreciated up close and in person.
