Claire Fahys

Fr , b. 1984, lives and works in Paris

After studying at the Ateliers de Sèvres, Claire Fahys moved to London and continued her training at Central Saint Martins from where she graduated in 2007, with BA Honours.

After 7 years in London, she immersed herself in the vibrant Berlin art scene where she was exposed to the tradition of German Expressionism. This, alongside the work of numerous Romanian, Danish or German painters who have settled in the city, including Victor Man, Adrian Ghenie, Tal R and Daniel Richter, greatly inspired her practice.

Fahys lived in Berlin for 6 years practicing and honing her oil painting skills. Following this, she secured two residencies in Mexico

In the last few years, Fahys has explored ways to translate the life impulse that animates us all. She has been working on a series about the Bike Life.‘RODÉO’ marked both her return to France and her first solo exhibition in Paris with Galerie Hussenot (April–June 22). 

She has been presenting a new series of paintings called ‘TEMPO’ where she explores rythm, vibration, pulse and soul at Better go south Gallery, Stuttgart, Germany (March 2023).

More recently, in a solo show ‘Les Mains Libres ‘ curated by Tatiana Roth she has been capturing the vitality of several contemporary choreographers and dancers, London ( June 2023 )
